A No-Brainer: Wii Top Seller on eBay

,

Well, this shouldn't come as a shock to anyone, but it is still worth to note. Auction site, eBay, published its 'sales' report for Black Friday and reported that its most-searched-for item was (drum rolls, please...) the Nintendo Wii. Homer: Doh!

But that's not all. Ooooh, no! The Wii sold 3171 units in 24 hours, and users payed a whopping average selling price of US$349! That's one hundred dollars over retail and nearly as much as a PS3!! Now THAT is being desperate (especially since most auctions on eBay sport used consoles).

Rumour: Fatal Frame IV European Release

, ,

Well, apparently Official Nintendo Magazine published a short story confirming that Fatal Frame IV is indeed getting an European release and, while there is not an official date for this, the news clip suggests February 6th,2009 is looking pretty good... Also, according to this, the game is not going to carry the usual Euro name for the franchise ("Project Zero"), but the simple "Fatal Frame IV".
Sadly, no news on an US release yet :frown:

Avalon Code Trailer

, , , ...

The Action-RPG DS game that is already being played by millions of Japanese natives (or Japanese reading importers), is at least scheduled to have an English launch, but it looks like all we have is a year window to play with. Anyway, if you want to see the preview, dig this:

Proffessor Layton and the Curious Movie

, , , ...

Maybe that's not actually the official name for the Japanese movie that's planned to come out in Japan in 2010, but a movie is actually what development studio Level 5 is planning. Other than this bit of info, not much else is known, except the REAL possible title to the movie: Proffessor Layton the First Movie - does that mean more are planned? Remember when Pokemon the First Movie came out and how just from the title we KNEW there would be more? Get your thinking caps on and speculation pipes started, because this could be a clue...

To check out a bunch of pics and where the news was originnally laid out check out Games Watch. I hope you know japanese.

+Update: For those fans who enjoy the original cast of voices, this animated movie will also feature the original voice actors (at least for the Japanese movie).

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Sacrifice Screens

, , , ...

Remember Buffy? She stabbed her stake into our hearts back in the day, and is now coming back to fight evil on the DS. It's a special game, partnering 505 Games with Twentieth Century Fox, and it brings back Rob Deshotel, an original writer for the series, to write the story. It takes place sometime after the final season, and players control Buffy in her quest to steal back the Hellmouth (you can steal the Hellmouth?). Sadly, it looks to be quite short, at only 12 levels, but it brings back basically all the main characters from the series. Also, it's only for Europe! So you folks be looking for it in November. Which means that, you know, it probably already came out and I'm slow.

Eiji Aonuma is Never Gonna Give You Up

, , , ...

He's the man who brought us the legendary Ocarina of Time. The producer of the Legend of Zelda series is very proud of that monumental game, as he should be. And now we can all be proud of him. In a recent interview, Aonuma stated that he will stop at nothing to make a game better than Ocarina, and that's the reason that he has stayed on the team all these years.

Originally posted by Eiji Aonuma:

"I’m happy that a title I worked on some time ago remains highly praised to this day, but that also shows how none of the subsequent games in the series have surpassed it," he explains. "As someone who is still working on the series, I have mixed feelings about that. Because I haven’t yet surpassed it, I can’t quit. Surprisingly, that simple motivation may be the reason I continue to work on the Zelda series."

Here's to hoping he reaches his goal soon enough.

Chrono Symphonic

, ,

To me, Chrono Trigger has one of the best soundtracks in a game EVER. So, to celebrate the release of Chrono Trigger on DS, I wanted to post an fan album of the music. So what better then Chrono Symphonic? Its been out for a while, but nonetheless has a great variety of remixes from many of the songs in Trigger.

So if you haven't heard this album yet, you should click the link and check it out, all the music is free to download!

Final Fantasy CC: Echos of Time Preorder Bonus

, , , ...

Square Enix is dishing out the goods when it comes to the DS Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time (thats a big name), not only do they confirm that a special edition white DSi will be made to feature the game's logo on top, but if you pre-order the game you can also get a CD with four Crystal Chronicle tracks.

Sounds pretty dope right? Well, the bad news is that there is no news if this is actually going to happen in any other parts of the world that are not named Japan or Nippon. As of now, it's purely a gift to those who live in the Land of the Rising Sun, or those who risk everything to import it - I guess though that if you had this system, another DSi system, and some Nintendo tools you could simply do a shell-swap. If you wanna go that route, I recommend you log in to Play-Asia right now, because the system is available in Japan on January 29th, and we all know the Japanese need DS systems like they need air to breathe.

Sorry, we don't have any images of this system yet. :frown:

Chrono Trigger Launch

, , , ...

Chrono Trigger for the DS launched today in North America. For me, it's no big deal - I don't really care too much for the art style, though I do give credit to Akira Toriyama for sticking with his signiture and unique style, the one he used for Dragon Ball, DBZ, and a million other DB sagas.

The updated game (from Super Nintendo) allows for 2-4 players, a new dungeon, two other new areas, slightly reworked translations, a two-screen presentation, a touch-screen mode, anime opening cutscene, some new sprite animations, noticeably reworked music, and extras available after saving the game for the first time:

  • Theater ('View in-game movies')
  • Art Gallery ('View concept artwork')
  • Music Box ('Listen to music tracks')
  • Dojo ('View character tech skill information')
  • Bestiary ('View detailed enemy information')
  • Item Encyclopedia ('View item information')

The game is rated E10+
(everyone 10 years old and up)
